Today’s Non-Fiction Revision Activities

You should aim to choose from one of the revision activities below.  Each activity should take you between 20-30 minutes to complete:

Reading Non-Fiction

 

Developing analysis and inference

Read the Charlie Brooker extract at least three times over five minutes.  Highlight and label at least seven examples of language devices that Brooker has used.  Begin to explore why Brooker has used these devices (5 minutes).

What Next – answer the following exam question:

How does Charlie feel about the iPad?  How does his use of language reflect his feelings about the iPad? (8 marks).

Remember: 1 mark = 1.5 minutes, so this should take you 12 minutes

Writing Complete three of the four tasks below:

Write a paragraph and in each new line use a different piece of punctuation.

 

Learn how to use a semicolon (;)

 

Find five better words to use instead of good, bad, happy and sad.

 

Research the different types of rhetoric.
